A Perfect Baseball Game

On Monday, May 5th, our varsity baseball team defeated Cardinal Hayes 6- 0 behind a perfect game thrown by sophomore Liam Josephson. That’s right – a perfect game. 21 Hayes hitters came to bat, but none of them ever reached first base.

Liam was supported by his catcher Jesus Jaile who called a great game and had two hits. Sophomore Michael Maschi had a big two run double and Junior TJ Mangan added a home run to spark the offense.

Congratulations to Liam, Jesus and the entire team.

We are still researching the archives but believe this may well be the first perfect game at Fordham Prep since its founding in 1841. It is an extraordinary rarity at any level of baseball.
